Tech Essay Draft

TECH Essay Overview: Technology is expanding people’s physical and virtual identities and changing what it means to be a woman or what it means to be popular. People can now present themselves differently on the internet while promoting their identity in a way that has never been witnessed in the past. Essential Questions: 1. Does the structure of the internet itself amplify any issues such as sexism or bullying? 2. How have issues of online sexism compared to the sexism women have dealt with for centuries? 3. How does online bullying compare to face-to-face bullying experiences? Prompt: Consider the readings from this module and think about the learning resources and assignments that we have studied regarding the world of technology. Be sure to include examples and evidence from our learning resources to support your explanation. Audience: Write for an audience who is NOT in our class. That means you’ll need to spend some time summarizing key ideas, defining any terms that might be unfamiliar, and choosing short quotes from the reading selections to help your reader get a sense of the authors’ arguments.
